The Zone Camp began in 2002 by Eric Larsen and Eric Vanzee. These young men had the vision to provide a local summer camp for youth ministries in the Mid West and has continued to be built up by a dedicated group of youth workers in St. Louis, MO ever since.
The Zone Camp is a Christian summer camp located in the Mid-West at Lake Williamson, IL. It has been specifically designed to create the space for middle school students to experience relational ministry in a camp setting. The Zone has everything you would expect a middle school summer camp to have; including water front activities (A Blob, Water trampoline, Floating rock climbing wall, water slides, etc...) a gym, snack shop, arcade, skate park, and golf, but places its focus on the relational element that this environment creates rather than purely on the programmatic element itself.
What makes the Zone unique is that the relational element is built into the daily schedule. Our goal is not to offer students a chance to escape away from their every day life at home by purchasing an opportunity to be entertained at camp, but rather to experience an encounter with Jesus Christ through incarnational ministry. There are small and large group time for discussion and teaching, live music from a worship band, as well as Church group time and free time each day. Please join us and get in the ZONE!
