Wednesday at the Zone

Today at the Zone has been AWESOME! We started the morning with Zane hart talking about God's great love for us, despite our sin and brokenness. He talked about how even though God knows are sin, he still pursues and forgives us and delights to be in relationship with us. Many of the students left encouraged.

After the devotion the students went to their own time of personal reflection and confession. Here, they were encouraged to seek God's great love and receive his fatherly care for us. So often, students do not spend time resting and reflecting from all that life brings. We want the Zone to be a time where they can rest and reflect and gave them the time to do this.

I want to take a moment to talk about our awesome seminar speaker and topics for the week.
First, Steve and Katrina Dalbey have been talking about Culture and how to engage with culture instead of retreat or judge. We are using Walt Mueller's 3D design method (Discover, Discern, Decide) from the website www.cpyu.org. We encourage everyone to visit this side as we engage with the world we live in.
Second, Stephen Yates has given a talk on dealing with doubt. His lecture is for students who wonder if Christianity is true and have questions. Stephen Yates is leading an honest discussion on this topic and the feedback has been very positive.
Third, Bill Thompson has had a time of Q & A. Bill has an Masters of Divinity from Covenant Seminary and he has encouraged students to come with questions about the Bible, God and their faith.
Fourth, Bo Kyle is talking about Telling the best story (yours and God's). He talks about how our lives are full of stories and some are hard to get through. Bo shares about how God has a great story and how we fit into this story despite our own story.
Fifth and finally, Beth and Zane hard have been talking about our bodies and how God believes that our bodies are important to who we are. They are talking about God has a plan to redeem and restore our bodies.

Wow - that is a lot.

Before I go I will say that students has fun this afternoon at the blog, the pool, the volleyball court and other activities here at Lake Williamson. We are so thankful for the sunny weather today and look forward to being able to show you the photos early next week.

See ya!
